Setting up your user profile

One of the best ways to learn how to use a wiki and Confluence is to work on your User Profile

Finding your user profile page

  • Log in (using the login link at bottom of page)
  • Click on your name (top-right)
  • This is your user page. You can add as many other pages within space as you like.

Set permissions

  • Who do you want to allow to see and/or edit your space? e.g.,
    • Anybody (e.g., allow anonymous viewing/commenting/editing)?
    • Confluence users? (e.g., allow all logged users to view/comment/edit)?
    • Nobody (i.e., a private space)
  • For more info, see Permissions

Add picture

  • Viewing user profile (instructions out of date - so, try these steps)
    • Make a 48x48 pixel picture (using your favourite image editor - or try this online Photo processing applet )
    • Click on Preferences - top right
    • Edit Profile
    • Profile Picture
    • Browse - Upload - Save

Add info

Play around with adding:

  • Information about yourself
  • Links to internal pages
  • Links to external pages
