Debrief information

When to use

  • Debriefing participants is appropriate when deception is involved. The deception may have been subtle, e.g., not disclosing the full purpose of the study up-front because doing so may influence participants' responses. Even in such cases, additional debrief information should be provided to participants so that they are fully aware of the purpose of the study in which they participated.
