Creating a space

About

  • NOTE: You already have a personal space. Once you log in, you can add content, etc.
  • So, these instructions apply only if you want to create more spaces (e.g., for special projects)

Method 1: Direct creation

  • Make sure you are logged in
  • Click this button:
  • I recommend the Clickr theme

Method 2: Via OPUS

  • Login to OPUS or OSIS
  • Select UC Applications - Create UCSpace
    • Alternative: CTRL-F and search for "Create UCSpace"
  • Complete specific details
    1. Type of space - usually this will be "group", unless you want to try importing a cohort of students and restricting access to only those students, in which case try "teaching"

Space details

    1. Name of space (can be change later)
    2. Key is the most important detail because these characters will be used to form the space's unique URL and can't be changed later
    3. Description (can be left blank and can be changed later)
