Thur 11.30

This page hold the opinion/evaluation of tutorial on Thursday 11.30 about the wiki space for peer learning.

How did you use the tool to work together to develop the IS Jobs Registry?

Viewed the available information on the IS Jobs Registry of our chosen job title, then analysed the information that was on there then after viewing this information we edited information that we thought was applicable for the Job title

We completed the template that was provided. It enabled comparision over time and there multiple contributors.

What is your most significant experience of using the wiki space?

Group participation, sharing information and the editing tool was user friendly the technology is an improvement over emails etc.

What are the good features of a wiki? Was it useful?

'Up to date', editing information that may be false. It was useful as each person can contribute following the template into the space.

What are the bad features of a wiki?

Other people editing your work. It is not controlled

How did the wiki exercise helped you to learn from each other?

Reading other peoples material and using other peoples resources

Did you had to change any existing ways of doing collaborative work?

By doing collaborative work online. Cost efficient

Are there any governance issues or concerns related to the use of wiki for teaching and learning?

In some areas it says that you have to use it in an academic way. Encourage other contributions rather than discourage so people feel comfortable about contributing. Anonymity will make people feel more comfortable when contributing

How could such social technologies be used in future for teaching and learning?

Absenteeism. Online courses.
