Differences observed

Jobs in the ICT area differ depending on what an applicant wishes to specialise in. ICT educators can be employed in secondary schools and Universities in not only Australia, but in other countries such as the UK, on both a part and full time basis (Seek has numerous listings for ICT educators in the UK) (seek.com.au, 2007). Here the job requirements are basically identical to those of a secondary teacher, however further training and/or experience in the information technology sector would be necessary. ICT trainers are also able to work within a business environment (HCI, 2007) training personnel in their own companies about information communication technology or working as a part of specialist training organisations servicing corporate or individual clients. In the corporate sector the prerequisite of experience would be a more highly valued attribute due to the high level of change and development in the industry and the professional nature of the job. As indicated by the differences in salaries, ICT trainers in the corporate sector are highly sought after.

2007-08-08: This is a work in progress and more will be added to it pending some more research. Cheers, Chloe

Lisa Mary Kilpatrick says:

hey i was wondering if an IT teacher is the same thing as an ICT teacher? also noticed that the job description has been basically copied and pasted from the website its referenced from. so would be a good idea to change it around or put it in quotation marks. ta

Chloe-Jane Engel says:

Hey Lisa, sorry i went MIA for a while....so following your message I've updated a few things. I think that IT and ICT Teacher are some what related in the sense that there both Information Teachnology Education. I found a really good website on ICT Education https://www.acs.org.au/ictcareers/careers/descriptions/iteducator.htm this may be able to explain it better than i can for you.

I have ammended the job description a tad with regards to referencing. Not too sure if there correct, but added in some in-text referencing ect.

Dean I hope you don't mind  i just chaged some of the wording ect, not much though.

Let me know what you guys think.

Cheers,Chloe

Chloe-Jane Engel says:

Hi Dean - I have also just moved the dot points in the 'Breif Discription' you added into the 'duties and responsib' as they are more relevant to this section. I also noticed as i went to do so parts of it was repeated so have accordingly deleted some of it because it was repeated twice. Hope you don't mind. Again happy to discuss and work through together and can always change back if you think i'm incorrect. Cheers, Chloe

Chloe-Jane Engel says:

Hi all, one last thing sorry! But with regards to the referencing for 'Job Listing', can we come to a concensus on the structure.

Can I suggest as our lecture notes say from week four. eg for an employment website:

(name of organisation, date of listing, position title, retreival time, URL)

I just notice that the first three done have this, as i don't know what dates they were veiwed ect can who ever put them up (i think Dean) please update when you get a chance.

Can I also suggest removing the 'Job Title' which is seperate from the reference and use bullet points? I'm thinking the more jobs we find and add on it may get a bit messy. Just a thought, I haven't changed it cause i want to see what you both think.

cheers, Chloe

Dean Michael Hyde says:

Yeah changes are fine. I didnt want to make it perfect otherwise no one else would be able to add anything so i didnt spend much time including every little detail.

Chloe-Jane Engel says:

cool sounds good, thanks.

Lisa Mary Kilpatrick says:

hey chloe ta for the website helped heaps. ive changed some stuff hope you dont mind. i always feel bad editing stuff... mwah.

Chloe-Jane Engel says:

hey Lisa - looks great and don't mind at all. The more input the better hey. Good luck with your presentation. Cheers, Chloe
