Brief description

The role of Business Analysts is critical in contemporary system development.. The Business Analyst is a key partner with Project Managers and System Developers. In particular, Project Managers rely on the Business Analyst to assist in providing more detailed project objectives, system requirements, business process analysis and cost-benefit analysis.(ACS,2007)

Duties & responsibilities of this role

Work closely with business units to identify business needs, costs and benefits
Develop project briefs and other project documentation including strategies, tenders, quote and functional specifications
Recommend, research and oversee implementation of new applications / software
Contribute to the development and implementation of processes and procedures
Manage projects according to agreed timelines and budget allocations

Job requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have demonstrated experience working as a Business Analyst including previous experience with:

• Business requirements analysis
• Process analysis and modeling
• Business process redesign and cost benefit analysis
• Design and execution of test plans
• Identifying opportunities for improvement in business systems
• Developing solutions to business and IT technical problems
• The software development life cycle

You must also have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) together with strong analytical and problem solving skills.(seek, job detail,2007)
