Differences observed

The Government job advertisements require applicants to answer a selection criteria based on relevant skills and knowledge. The essential criterion not only includes required technical knowledge of software programs but also the ability to analyse, solve and communicate requirements in a professional manner. (Defence Housing Australia, 10 August, 2007)

In contrast to the Unicom and Defence Housing job advertisements, the Greythorn advertisement varied significantly from these two. Firstly, the advertisement is very brief and does not go into much detail regarding the duties & responsibilities, job requirements & skills, relevant experience and so on. Secondly, the set out provided is very brief and constrained to one paragraph, this advertisement is less formal than the previous two and emphasizes a more relaxed and flexible working environment. Thirdly, another major difference is the advertisement requires a degree or relevant Information Technology experience which was not stated in the previous advertisements. (JobServe, 18 August, 2007)

The final job advertisement provides both similarities and differences in comparison. Unlike Greythorn, Bluefin Resources does go into more detail regarding the responsibilities, requirements, experience and so on. However, while the information provided varies, the format is very similar in that it is proved in one long paragraph which contrasts to the Unicom and Defence Housing advertisements. Personally, I have found the latter to be a more formal and objective approach with the company's intent being clear and specific. Another difference not yet observed in previous advertisements was the promotion of an employee benefit/discount scheme, which is used to entice viewer and guarantees career development opportunities.
