Hullo to UC colleagues involved in this project:

After our meeting today in the Staff Club (Wednesday 1 August) attended by Lubna, Kate, Judith, Helena and Peter, some of the big pciture directions are taking place:

  • the content of the module is to be revised (Yoni has provided some feedback) but Judith and Kate will be substantially adding to the material and extending the discipline links (to go into September)
  • the link with the Graduate Attributes project has lots of potential
  • the range of systems being used at UC includes: APA, Harvard/author-date, AGPS, Footnote system(Law),  Chicago, Vancouver, ?? not sure what IT uses
  • the discipline links should include: Management, IT, Education, Law (Footnote system), Design, Science, Psychology
  • the UC library has been doing lots in this area and the resources etc they have developed will be incorporated in the site.

In terms of the project I will be contributing specifically with:

  • Video clip of the Dean of Students
  • Podcase/digital comments from students
  • and I am happy to review/comment on materials being developed

Some important points from a projec point of view is that the existing WebCT site can be used but will not be added to. Version control of documents in this wiki is better.

I will add further comments as the project evolves.

Peter's Invoice to AIM
I am invoicing the project for $600 and I was hoping this money could be deposited in the consultancy account of Peter Donnan (Account Number: 1665).

The roles and hours that I invested in this project include:

Participation in the planning and development phase of the project (8 hours) Attendance at meetings (6 hours) Assistance with the video clip from the Dean of Students (2 hours) Assistance with the pilot development and testing (3 hours).

Some of this work is not being charged for because as a member of CELTS I assist staff in such work. Because of under-staffing in CELTS however I have had to do extra work beyond my normal allocation and $600 covers this sufficiently.

I have been very pleased to contribute in a small way to such an important project and I think it should have an important impact on student and staff practices around being aware of, and teaching about academic integrity at UC.
