Endnote and Shared Folder

I have created a folder on U drive for the project.  Its network address is U:\Group Shares\School of Business and Government\Mapping Generic Outcomes Research Project.

If you cannot find this folder on your computer, give me a call and I will help you find it.

I have created an endnote (version 8) file in this folder for managing the references for the project.  The file is called "mapping generic outcomes.enl".  If you are using an older version of Endnote, contact the help desk to have it upgraded to version 8 at least.  If you are using version 9 or 10, please do not upgrade the file to that version.  If you do not know what Endnote is or how to use it, give me a call and I will take you through the basics.  Valerie in the library can arrange more detailed training.

I recommend that this folder NOT be used to store project documents but that UCSpace be used.  The reasons for this are:

  1. UCSpace can be accessed off campus - the share drive cannot be.
  2. UCSpace can be setup to send an email to you whenever someone updates it.

Example

The Advanced Jounalism Unit Outline (attached) is an example of a unit outline from my friend Jennifer Kitchener in the journalism programme. They are required to show the generic skills developed in their units.

I thought it might be a useful model for us to think about.
