Final exam marks available
Hi everyone,
Final exam marks are now available on WebCT (M ~ 52). Once I've finished
marking all the lab reports, I'll upload those marks too, and provide a
final mark. Compared, to last year, overall performance on exams has
been a bit lower, but performance on the lab reports has been a bit
higher (so far, the lab report M is around 70).
Lab report marking update
Just wanted to give you all an update ... I am ploughing a little slower
than hoped through lab report marking. All late/extensions reports are
now in, so I can start to release available marks. Note - I have marked
in order of receipt. If you submitted on time, I will be trying hard to
get your mark back before the exam, but no promises.
RE: [7126-6667] Practice final exam available
FYI, I've received some useful questions about the practice final exam
questions, which I've responded to here:

Feel free to email with other questions.

7126 - drop-in this week
FYI, I will be available in my office 3b22 this Friday 13th June 2pm -
3.30pm if anyone wants to meet with me e.g., about the final exam.
Tip: A good way for everyone to learn and prepare for the final exam is
to send questions about the practice exam to the discussion list.
Lab report feedback and marks will hopefully be back by the end of next

Just a reminder to use APA style for referencing electronic sources.

For example, the survey reference should be something like:

motivation, satisfaction, and learning self-efficacy questionnaire v.3/.
Creating graphs in Microsoft Word
One of the suggestions I've been making to several people is about how
to create graphs in Microsoft Word. You can use SPSS graphs, but a lot
of the time drawing the graphs in MS Word is preferable, because it
means you don't need to rely on SPSS, you can create some basic graphs
which copied and easily adapted, and its arguably easy to tweak the

Re: [7126-6667] FA - Appendices
Good question. For a factor analysis, it may be useful to present the
initial solution, but in most cases the final solution is sufficient and
appropriate.
I've also updated the guidelines with some clearer suggestions here
about use of appendices:

FA
Hi James,

Is it necessary to include initial and subsequent FA solutions as
appendicies, in addition to our final solution?

Thanks

Re: Box's M
Thanks James,
That link helped a lot.
